Trans Iowa: Here's a reminder of what Trans Iowa is.........We are informing you all that are in the event that if you don't agree that you are on your own, that you are responsible for yourself, and that this is being undertaken of your own volition, then don't take the start.
Read that and consider it carefully.

2/14/18: Happy VD! (HA!) I like to pass on different viewpoints on "what it takes" to do something like Trans Iowa whenever I can. Different views are good to consider, and with that in mind, here is an excellent take from my friend Sam from his blog, "Cyclist....Not Biker" called "Tips From The Back Of The Pack". Hope you enjoy that and get some good from it.
2/8/18: Some explanations concerning the Pre-Race Meat-Up, Cues, and more HERE on G-Ted Productions blog. READ IT!
2/7/18: The "weather is the wildcard" at Trans Iowa. The latest Spring forecast says that Iowa will have a cold and wet Spring with the possibility of a "bubble of warm temperatures in April". Will that encompass Trans Iowa, or will we get drenched and freeze like last Spring? Who knows......
1/31/18: Once again I have had enough folks step forward to volunteer that I have no need for further help. . Thank you to all who have asked to help with this event!!

1/28/18: Check out THIS POST from Black Mountain Cycles' Mike Varley on the reasons why he is sponsoring T.I.v14 this year. Thanks BMC and Mike Varley!
1/11/18: Trans Iowa welcomes back Lederman Bail Bonds who have backed Trans Iowa for several years now. They help provide funding for things that we have given away like t-shirts, hats, and other stuff. What's in store for this year? You'll have to show up to find out!

1/11/18: A word about convenience stores. First off- THERE ARE NO SUPPLY CHANCES AT ANY OF THE CHECKPOINTS! Next, there are a total of FOUR convenience stores on the ENTIRE ROUTE. The last one is a 24 hour store and is about 100 miles from the finish. Plan accordingly.
1/5/18: HAPPY NEW YEAR! I've just found out that Black Mountain Cycles is going to offer a frame/fork to the rider who finishes T.I.v14 that put in the "Grittiest Ride". Stay tuned for further details, but in the meantime, visit the Black Mountain Cycles site here-

12/25/17: The course recon showed we needed to do a couple of short reroutes. The new total is 345.2 miles. Right now the break down is as follows: Start to CP#1- 44.2m CP#1 to CP#2- 163.7 m CP#2- Finish- 137.26m This is pending a confirmation of the reroutes and the Spring recon, but should be close to what you will see if not spot on. Stay tuned.....

12/20/17: A full course recon has been accomplished. The report link is HERE.
11/9/17: More Sponsor News! Pedal of Littleton is back again to sponsor Trans Iowa. We've been happy to have Pedal as a sponsor since T.I.v10. Look for some raffle items from them at the Pre-race Meat-Up!
11/8/17: Trans Iowa v14 welcomes back Bar Yak as a sponsor once again. This time Bar Yak has promosed a couple of their Q:Pro cue sheet holders as giveaways for two of the riders who show up for the event. Plus, a 10% discount and free shipping to anyone on the roster this year who wants to order a Bar Yak Q:Pro. Contact Bar Yak directly for details.
11/8/17: Note! A series of posts will be going up on the "Guitar Ted Productions" site regarding equipment and clothing choices for Trans Iowa. Geared at the Rookie class, it still might be good to review it for everybody. The post for 11/6/17 about "How To Plan For The Weather" can be accessed by clicking the link HERE.The second post about "Lights And Batteries" can be found HERE. A word on cue sheet holders and cues can be seen HERE. Make sure to check the comment section under each post for more valuable tips from past Trans Iowa finishers and veterans!
10/31/17: Thanks again to the Grinnell Steakhouse for hosting the TIv14 Pre-Race Meat-Up which will be held on Friday, April 28th! This meeting has a MANDATORY ATTENDANCE FOR ALL TIv14 RIDERS!! Stay tuned for details.

10/7/17:  NOTE: An important change to T.I. will be happening for v14. CUES WILL NOT BE HANDED OUT AT THE PRE-RACE!! See THIS POST on the GT Productions blog for details on the what and why.
9/12/17: The first leg of the course has been drafted. There needs to be some recon done to move forward on the second and third legs, so that may not be completed for a couple more weeks yet.
